Race Council Cymru is the overarching umbrella body established in Wales to bring together key organisations and individuals to co-operate on promoting integration, championing justice and race equality in institutions and society. We work towards the elimination of racial discrimination, promote equality of opportunity and good race relations between people from different racial backgrounds.

Race Council Cymru engages with BAME grassroots communities and works directly with the local authority, governing bodies and business to promote awareness of race inequality. We work to establish and facilitate channels of communication with minority ethnic and grassroots communities throughout Wales in conjunction with and on behalf of Primary Stakeholders, Welsh Government, Local Authorities and other such private and public bodies.

Race Council works through creative programmes to promote Art, Heritage and Cultural activities for black and minority ethnic communities across Wales, including the Black History Month Wales and Black History Cymru 365 programme, which this year celebrates Movers, Shakers & Legacy Makers.
