Swansea Civic Centre transformation to be modelled on Plymouth waterfront
A former Navy building in Plymouth which has been transformed into shops, restaurants, bars, visitor accommodation and art studios will be the model for Swansea’s Civic Centre site when it is redeveloped. The waterside Plymouth complex has been redeveloped by Urban Splash – the company Swansea Council has appointed to transform seven sites in the city. One of the first of these seven will be the 17-acre Civic Centre site, although it’s still early days. Read More
Masterplan launched to transform Swansea community
The Penderi Regeneration Scheme will see a large and long-term investment into the area, four miles from Swansea city centre, with the plans shaped by the community itself. Over 350 households in the area proactively participated in the consultation process. Active and influential community groups and organisations have also given their views and feedback, such as Blaenymaes Drop-in Centre Ty Fforest Hub and Swansea Community Farm. Read More

Wales Contemporary 2022 Exhibition
Now in its third year, the prestigious Wales Contemporary/Cymru Gyfoes international art competition returns to Milford Waterfront this autumn. This year’s competition has attracted nearly 2,000 entries from over 40 countries, including Japan, Canada, the USA, Spain and of course, Wales. The historical Clydach chapel that’s been transformed into a dance school to give young people new opportunities
NSDC dance school’s new venue is Salem Fardre Methodist Chapel, a post-medieval chapel which was built in the village in 1871. Dance teacher Natalie Salter already runs a well-established dance school in Pontardawe and puts on classes in Llandarcy but has always wanted to bring dance to her local community. The new dance school will offer dance and fitness classes for all ages including street, commercial, tap, modern jazz, musical theatre and Zumba. Read More
