At 4theRegion we are always advocating for greater involvement of regional firms in the construction and operation of regional developments, so we were delighted to hear from Swansea-based Erinstone Ltd that they have just completed installation of new resin-bound stone tree pits on Oxford Street in Swansea City Centre – a contract they picked up following valuable networking opportunities at the Swansea City Centre Conference in April 2019.

“The City Centre Conference helped us to identify opportunities to offer our services to the Council for some of the city centre improvements.  We met some of the key people and asked what the opportunities were for a small firm like ours.  We’re hoping to win more work on the Kingsway and arena developments, on the strength of what we’ve done on Oxford Street,” said Charly Cole, founder of Erinstone Ltd.

Resin-bound stone is a practical solution for urban tree pits, and enables the roots of trees to be protected whilst maintaining a smart appearance, with a fully porous SUDS-approved surface that lets water through but keeps down weeds.

Erinstone was founded in 2017 and is a growing business servicing the domestic and commercial sectors.  The team exhibited at the Swansea City Centre Conference, in the Development & Investment Zone, which included large and small supply chain businesses alongside Swansea Council, Buckingham Group and the Ambassador Theatre Group, presenting plans for the arena and digital quarter developments.
