As an approved Gateway for the Government’s £2bn Kickstart programme aimed at helping young people back into employment, Pembrokeshire College is urging businesses to get in touch.
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16-24 year olds who are claiming Universal Credit. As a Gateway, Pembrokeshire College will partner with local businesses to create the minimum requirement of 30 job opportunities for each application to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
We will: support you to create placements that meet the requirements of the scheme*, submit an online application to DWP on your behalf and claim the scheme funding from DWP and pass it on to you as the employer.
As part of the Kickstart Scheme criteria, employers will have to show that they are providing training support to their placements, in order to improve their chances of employability for the future.
In addition to acting as a Kickstart Gateway, Pembrokeshire College can offer a you full support package to help you meet this criteria. We can provide an Employability and Opportunities support package tailored for your participants’ needs.
*To meet the requirements of the Kickstart Scheme, we are currently unable to take applications from sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies who have not yet filed any accounts as these are not currently eligible under the scheme.
