4theRegion is a founding member of the new Welsh hub for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance – a global network of organisations advancing the idea of well-being economics. 

A “wellbeing economy” is one that works for people – not the other way around.  It’s an economy that prioritises the wellbeing of people and the planet – not the pursuit of “growth” at any cost.  In short, it’s the kind of economy that 4theRegion has been campaigning for since our foundation, as part of a Wales-wide movement of people, businesses and organisations who are saying No to “business as usual” and Yes to new ways of working, new ways of organising society and our economy.

WEAll Cymru is organising a major communications campaign in the lead up to the Senedd elections in May 2021, to engage all voters across the country with a hopeful and empowering message about the future of Wales. 

We’ve brought together an alliance of over 80 networks from across Wales, who are ready to collaborate and share resources to promote the values of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.  The Act is law in Wales, so it’s beyond party politics.  And the values of the act are universal, describing a vision that the majority of people share. 

If we can inspire people who are disengaged from politics to use their votes to stand up for these values, we can help move Wales in a positive direction for future generations.

The next step is to pin down a compelling message and campaign narrative, and to determine an effective strategy for reaching out beyond our “bubbles” to the widest possible audience.  For that, we know we need professional expertise, so we’ll be engaging a creative communications agency to ensure a successful campaign.  

As a people-powered network, we don’t have public money or wealthy backers to rely on.  That’s why we’re inviting our supporters to contribute to this first stage of our work.  Your donation will pay directly for the creative and strategic design work, and the online marketing costs, to get this project off the ground.  Once we have the right messaging, branding and strategy in place, we know that our huge network will help to spread the campaign far and wide across Wales.
