Grwp Resilience has in February:
- Expanded its affiliate members to over 60.
- Secured £17,000 grant to pass on to 3 organisations contributing to the Repair Network Pembrokeshire.
It will buy: A generous shed on an allotment site for repair cafes, tool sharing, talks to children, also power, solar panels and compost loo. It will pay three groups to run courses and repair cafes through the year. They are Dig for Victory, a veterans garden in St. Ishmaels, Dezza’s Cabin, a south Pembs social needs self help group with a charity shop in Haverfordwest, and Llangwm allotment society.
We are providing mini grants for up to 10 community growing sites, as a boost to prepare for Spring. We organised a zoom where they got inspired by each other and hatched ideas to invest in all the local growing sites with a single bid.
Grwp Resilience holds monthly short talks: Affiliates can take a slot to present to the others. In January it was Tackling covid at home. Paul Sartori’s Sophie has a lifetime of nursing experience including as clinical director. The recorded talk is on the website.
Two timber eco house providers shared the platform in February. They are supplying beautiful zero carbon affordable housing, but still a long way from being the norm not the exception.
In March three care organisations will share experiences and facts from the coal face of pain, dementia and severe social issues.
